Dieta Health, from its inception, has been focused on improving gut health through AI-driven stool imaging technology, giving patients and clinicians real-time, actionable insights.

We first crossed paths in conversations about how AI could not only streamline the delivery of digestive care but truly personalize it, making it easier for patients to navigate their health journeys. What became clear was that together, we could do something even more powerful: combine our capabilities to create a smarter, more holistic approach to AI-driven care.
A Personal Journey
Bill’s Perspective:
We founded Cylinder in 2021 in response to the undeniable need for improved clinical care for those who suffer from digestive health conditions. These conditions and their related symptoms impact the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of people across the globe.
I knew that this was a big problem that needed an innovative solution to ensure that people are getting the right care at the right time. Since then, we’ve built an incredible solution. We’ve served almost 100K members across the country in every state and it’s been really exciting to see us be able to improve the lives of the members we serve and generate incredible outcomes for our patients and for our partners.
I first met Asaf in 2020 and I was immediately impressed with his similar passion for solving this big problem. I loved that Asaf saw how creating innovative technology can improve care at scale for those who need it most. Over the years I was able to watch Asaf successfully grow Dieta and I loved seeing the impact he was making for Dieta’s users.
Building a new company is hard work. It requires discipline, humility and persistence. When you are first starting out, you need to cast a meaningful vision and then find talented people who are excited to execute against that vision alongside you. Finding an innovative leader like Asaf to partner with is so exciting because we can bring the passionate and talented team of Dieta and combine it with the great work we are doing at Cylinder.
Asaf’s Perspective:
In 2017, I was diagnosed with IBS and SIBO, a condition that completely upended my life. I spent months consulting GI specialists, cycling through complicated treatment plans, and searching for relief.
But what struck me most during that journey was the overwhelming lack of data and personalization in modern gastroenterology. The trial-and-error approach felt completely outdated, patients were each tracking data in a fragmented way, and I knew there had to be a better way. That realization planted the seed for what would become Dieta Health. I envisioned a future where GI patients were empowered to capture detailed data with ease, use AI to get precise insights, and receive truly personalized care.
I met Bill in the early days of Dieta and was impressed with his disciplined leadership and big vision. As I followed his progress in building Cylinder, I watched him secure major partnerships, publish research demonstrating superior care delivery, and touch the lives of 100,000 patients in such a short time. It became clear to me that Cylinder is the fastest growing, most innovative company transforming gastrointestinal care. At Dieta, our speciality was building AI tools for GI, and I knew there was no better home for our technology and team.
Now that we’ve joined forces, we’ll have the opportunity to integrate our AI and continue innovating on an even larger scale. I’m honored for Dieta to join Cylinder and continue building the future of digestive health.
